In today's fast-paced world, instilling a sense of environmental responsibility and social justice in our youth is more important than ever. By providing them with the knowledge and tools to positively impact the world around them, we empower them to become tomorrow's leaders and give students confidence. At GrassRoots Middle, we believe in the power of education to create lasting change.

Our microschool (ages 9-13) integrates outdoor education, environmental sciences, geography, and social justice through Media Art and Environmental Justice classes, study halls, independent reading, and project-based learning.
Environmental justice education forms our foundation. Students develop knowledge of sustainability, conservation, and social equity through hands-on experiences in urban gardens, museums, and camping trips. These experiences connect them to local ecosystems while building an understanding of climate change, pollution, and environmental challenges.
GrassRoots Middle empowers youth to become informed environmental advocates ready for 21st-century challenges. We provide tools for students to make meaningful changes in their communities and beyond.
