If you wanted to learn about other countries outside the United States, you'd have to research them at a local library through encyclopedias and the like! Nowadays, we live in a world where boundaries are increasingly blurred, and cultural exchange in education, especially in homeschooling, plays a crucial role. At GrassRoots Middle, we pride ourselves on being a Traveling World School Program, meaning we see the world as our classroom, and mother nature is a vital character that we MUST include in our narrative. At GrassRoots Middle, we aim to provide a unique opportunity to connect our middle school scholars with information from around the globe, fostering a rich learning environment. Being there in person would have been more rewarding; however, it was the next best thing for some! The mother even sealed the deal by serving a traditional Kazakhstan dish. It was phenomenal; our scholars didn't need to leave their seats!
Another example happened when we hosted a Sudan Research + Book Reading session with scholars at our local neighborhood library. Such interactions cultivate empathy and understanding.
